Launch of the Second Phase of the Khobar-Hofuf Water Transmission System Project
In mid-third quarter of 2024, the Water Transmission Company (WTCO) successfully launched the second phase of the Khobar-Hofuf Water Transmission System project as part of its efforts to ensure sustainable water supply.
Dr. Tariq Al- Alnaeem, CEO of WTCO, stated that the project embodies the company's commitment to enhancing water security in the Kingdom in line with Vision 2030. He added, "We see this project as a strategic investment aimed at securing sustainable water supplies, further solidifying the Kingdom's position as a global leader in this vital sector."
The second phase of the Khobar-Hofuf Water Transmission System is one of the largest projects executed by the company, designed with a pumping capacity exceeding 530,000 cubic meters per day and a strategic storage capacity of 340,000 cubic meters. The project includes over 140 kilometers of pipelines, thereby enhancing the security of water supply for the cities of Al-Oyoun, Hofuf, and Abqaiq
